TEXTILE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The Textile Engineering Department was officially founded in 1993 belonging to Trakya University in Edirne as Çorlu Engineering Faculty was part of it then. Although it was not an active department then, the undergraduate education has begun at 2008-2009 academic year following Çorlu Engineering Faculty becoming a part of Namık Kemal University in 2006. With its rapidly grown academic staff number, the Department today is offering MSc degree as well having over 100 undergraduate and 25 master level students in Textile Engineering.

Its unique teaching model titled as “industry integrated education” is going to be used for the first time in engineering education in the country and will make its graduates one of the well-received ones by industry. Apart from that, its PhD programme, which was approved just recently, is an important step to enhance the research capacity of the Department further.

With its unique location situated in a very dynamic and strong industrial region, the Department has a significant potential to become one of the well-established textile engineering departments of Turkey within a short time.
